Day 1
- Arrival
- ✈️ Airport Pick-Up: We’ll greet you at Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport and provide transportation, including your return trip to the airport.
- 🏨 Hotel Accommodation: Enjoy your first night in a comfortable hotel.
🛌🏻 Spend the night in a hotel, the same one as your first night’s stay.
🚌 Note: Transportation to the airport is included after your last night spent in the hotel.Day 2
- Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
- Depart from Moshi/Arusha to Marangu Gate for necessary formalities before the trek.
- Ascend through a beautiful tropical rainforest, encountering blue monkeys at the upper edge.
- The trail widens, revealing scenic hillsides along the way.
- Reach Mandara Hut as the next destination on the journey.
Day 3
- Mandara hut to Horombo hut.
- Proceed through the forest until the trail opens into high moorland.
- Catch potential first views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks, two of Kilimanjaro’s volcanic summit peaks.
- Continue the journey, taking in the unfolding scenery of the landscape.
Day 4
- Horombo Hut to Mawenzi Ridge
- Utilize this extra day for acclimatization, with an optional day hike on Mawenzi Ridge.
- Enjoy motivating views of Kibo and Mawenzi from the unique landscape.
- Explore the area, taking a few moments to absorb the surroundings.
- Return to Horombo Hut as the day’s journey concludes.
Day 5
- Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
- Ascend gradually, crossing the lunar desert of the “Saddle” between Mawenzi and Kibo.
- Reach Kibo Hut, situated at the base of the Kibo crater wall.
- Rest, indulge in an early dinner, and prepare for the upcoming summit day.
Day 6
- Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak
- Begin the summit push around midnight, facing mental and physical challenges in extreme conditions.
- Ascend in darkness for hours, with short breaks, reaching Gilman’s Point for a magnificent sunrise.
- Continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Kilimanjaro and Africa.
- Descend to Horombo Hut, concluding the day with a final dinner and well-earned rest.
Day 7
- Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
- Embark on a long downhill trek through the tropical rainforest on the last day.
- Reach the park headquarters at Marangu gate, where summit certificates are collected.
- Meet a waiting vehicle at the gate.
- Return to the hotel in Moshi/Arusha via a drive.
